One of my biggest sellers last year was grilled meatloaf. I really never had a taste for meatloaf until I started grilling it. I make it all the time now. It’s strange how food takes on a whole new flavor once grilled. I HATE tomatoes, but I cannot get enough of grilled tomatoes. I’m just weird. Anyway, alot of people made meatloaf sandwiches out of their meatloaf and one guy sold meatloaf “burgers” at our ballgames using this recipe. It’s quick, simple, and delicious. Make sure to check out my website to order a book. They are selling quickly.

Everyday Ingredients:

1 small egg
1/3 cup grated onion
2/3 cup bread crumbs
1 lb. lean ground beef sirloin
2/3 cup ketchup, preferably low-sodium
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper
nonstick cooking spray
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup prepared mustard
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
2 1/2 tablespoons firmly packed light brown sugar

Simple Grilling Instructions:

STEP ONE: Assemble all ingredients and cooking utensils.

STEP TWO. Spray a baking pan with nonstick spray and preheat the grill to 350°F.

STEP THREE. In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the egg, onion and bread crumbs. Add the ground beef, 1/2 cup of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt and pepper and mix to combine.

STEP FOUR. Form the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on the prepared pan. Spread a 1/4 cup of the remaining ketchup on top of the meatloaf and grill until cooked through, about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove from the grill and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

STEP FIVE. Meanwhile, combine the remaining 1/4 cup of ketchup, water, mustard, vinegar and sugar in a small saucepan and whisk to combine. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes to make a sauce for the meatloaf.

LAST STEP. Serve the meatloaf in slices along with the sauce.
